Acura Announces January Sales Results

Continuing the momentum from 2010, Acura light trucks again led monthly sales for the start of 2011 with 4,268 units sold-- up 32.1 percent. The top selling Acura in January was the MDX luxury SUV that sold 3,127 units, up 32.6 percent. Acura's total monthly sales were 7,961 vehicles, up 11.6 percent based on daily selling rate (DSR)*.

"Acura is in the thick of an extremely competitive luxury market as the economy slowly recovers," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "Achieving 12 straight months of double-digit sales increases is an accomplishment we can be really proud of."

The RDX crossover SUV was Acura's next best selling light truck with 993 units sold, an impressive 41.9 percent increase based on DSR. Acura car sales were led by the TSX sports sedan with 1,941units sold, a 7.5 percent increase compared to January 2010 sales. The TL performance luxury sedan tallied 1,592 units sold, a sales decrease of 19.8 percent. Acura total car sales for January were 3,693 units, down 5.4 percent.
