Hoping to make a difference in the lives of families with medical needs, Honda today announced the donation of a new 2015 Honda Odyssey minivan to the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Washington D.C. (www.rmhcdc.org) in partnership with the National Hockey League's (NHL) "The Biggest Assist Happens Off the Ice" program. The 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic took place on Jan. 1, 2015 in Washington, D.C., where the local NHL Club Washington Capitals hosted the Chicago Blackhawks. In a thrilling outdoor game, the Capitals defeated the Blackhawks in front of their home crowd. As part of Honda's partnership with the NHL, the winning team of the outdoor game donates a brand new vehicle to the local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Additionally, as part of an on-going initiative to support the local RMHC, the League donated $200 for every shot on goal during the outdoor game, totaling $14,000.
The Honda Odyssey was delivered to the Ronald McDonald House by Ourisman Honda of Bethesda, MD. The Odyssey will be used by the charity to aid in transporting families to and from the hospital.
