Honda honored 54 North American suppliers for outstanding performance in supplying the company with parts and materials during 2022, in the face of critical challenges including supply issues, logistics and transportation disruptions, weather impacts and workforce issues. Honda recognized 35 suppliers with awards for supporting Honda with mass production parts and materials, and 19 suppliers of service parts that serve the needs of customers after they purchase a Honda or Acura product.
Honda has recognized its suppliers with awards for over 35 years during its annual Honda Supplier Conference, which returned to an in-person event this year in Columbus, Ohio for the first time since 2019.
Honda purchased nearly $27 billion in parts for mass production operations from North American suppliers in 2022, which supported the sales of more than 1 million Honda and Acura vehicles in North America. Honda also purchased more than $1 billion in parts from its Service Parts suppliers in North America.
"The success of our journey to tomorrow must travel along a road of collaboration and communication between Honda and our suppliers," said Mike Lapham, general manager of procurement at Honda Development & Manufacturing of America. "As we prepare for our transition to electrification, our future success remains tied to the production of our current products to take care of our Honda and Acura customers and fuel our investment in our electrified and digital future."
Mass Production Supplier Awards
Honda recognized 35 suppliers for outstanding performance in three categories – excellence in quality & delivery, sustainability and challenging spirit. . A Supplier Sustainability Award is given to a company that is committed to social responsibility, based on leadership in the areas of compliance and ethics, environmental governance, diversity, health and safety, social and trade compliance. This year, Adient US LLC located in Holland, Michigan received the Supplier Sustainability Award. Adient has established environmental CO2 reduction targets which exceed Honda's requirements and they expect to achieve 75% CO2 reduction from 2019 to 2030.

Service Parts Supplier Awards
Honda honored 19 service parts suppliers with awards that reflect a supplier's combined performance in three categories: quality, cost, and delivery.
"Even as we plan for our transition to support our Honda and Acura customers with service parts in the EV future, we must first address the immediate need to support our existing customers with the availability, quality and cost competitiveness of parts from our suppliers," said Jessica Hammontree, assistant vice president of the Parts Division at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "As we move toward electrification, first with our auto business and then our other product lines, the efforts of our suppliers for service parts and mass production parts are equally important to our Honda and Acura customers."
Honda does business with nearly 1,200 service parts suppliers in North America to provide service and accessory parts for more than 20 million Honda and Acura automobiles in operation in the United States, as well as service parts for powersports and power equipment products.
