Honda Power Equipment Mfg., Inc. (HPE) today honored 29 of its parts and material suppliers with its annual supplier awards in recognition of outstanding performance. In 2019, HPE purchased nearly $300 million in parts and materials from 156 North American mass production suppliers, supporting sales of more than 2.6 million Honda power equipment products in North America.
HPE has the annual capacity to produce more than two million Honda general-purpose engines and 400,000 power equipment products. The plant, located in Swepsonville, N.C. is responsible for building lawn mowers, snow blowers, string trimmers, mini-tillers and generators. Since HPE started building products in 1984, the third Honda manufacturing plant in America has now built more than 37 million products for Honda customers in the U.S. and around the world.
Moreover, many of the power equipment products built at HPE are developed at the adjacent Honda R&D Americas, Inc. North Carolina Center.
“It is important to recognize and honor these top suppliers who are instrumental in ensuring our customers receive quality products,” said Shane McCoy, HPE senior vice president. “While we were unable to present the awards to our suppliers in person this year, we appreciate their outstanding efforts and dedication in supporting our operations during these uncertain times.”
