Statement by American Honda Regarding Certification Label Recall: 2012 Honda CR-V
Honda will voluntarily recall 264 model-year 2012 CR-V vehicles in the U.S. to update a section of the certification label on the driver's door jamb. Certification labels indicating incorrect information about the vehicles' weight and tire specifications were installed in these vehicles. The installed labels do not comply with U.S. federal motor vehicle labeling requirements. Vehicle functionality is not affected by this issue, which was discovered during quality inspections at the factory.
Honda is announcing this recall to encourage owners of all affected vehicles to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification of this recall from Honda. Mailed notification to customers will occur in early November 2012. In addition to contacting customers by mail, in early November, owners of these vehicles will be able to determine if their vehicles require inspection by going on-line to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4.
