More than 20,000 volunteers across North America are participating in Honda's second annual Week of Service, in which Honda associates, dealers and suppliers will conduct more than 425 volunteer service activities in 43 states, as well as Canada and Mexico, to make a positive impact in their communities. The Week of Service coincides with Honda's Founder's Day, marking the establishment of the first Honda business operation in North America on June 11, 1959.
"Through this coordinated week of volunteer projects across North America, we are reinforcing the Team Honda spirit of working together to make a difference in the communities where we live and work," said Rick Schostek, Executive Vice President, Honda North America, Inc. "Honda is incredibly proud to provide the opportunity for our associates, dealers and suppliers to give their time to make a positive impact in the communities we all call home."
The Week of Service volunteers represent some 20 Honda companies, 206 dealers and nearly 100 suppliers. It began this morning with a virtual kick-off at noon (EST), when many of those participating posted to social media using the hashtag #TeamHondaCares. The community impact from the Team Honda Week of Service included collecting more than 60,000 canned goods and meals, donating 600 pints of blood, painting and refurbishing 75 homes and raising $75,000 in charitable donations.
