"Honda's effort to create new value for our customers is tied to the strong relationships we develop with our suppliers in North America. Last year, we purchased nearly $28 billion in parts and materials from 600 original equipment suppliers in this region to support our record production in North America of more than 1.86 million vehicles.
We recently celebrated these relationships at our annual North American Supplier Conference, held this year in Indianapolis, where we recognized the efforts of our suppliers to exceed the expectations of our customers by delivering on key measures of their performance in the supply of parts and materials, including quality, value, innovation and on-time delivery.
In addition to honoring 93 suppliers with awards, we talked about how working as one Honda team with a shared vision for the future is critical to realizing our dreams for our customers. And as we concluded the conference, we sensed that both our suppliers and Honda associates were truly energized and excited about our future together."
