American Honda Foundation Report of Giving 2005-2009
The American Honda Foundation (AHF) recently released its latest Report of Giving — Perspectives: Through the Eyes of a Child. The report is a profile of AHF's activities in the United States, focusing on the nonprofit organizations and programs that have been supported by the foundation in the areas of youth and education from 2005-2009.
Through its grant-making function, the foundation consistently provides much-needed resources to communities and organizations that are working hard to make a difference in the lives of children. In addition to helping children realize their dreams, these nonprofit organizations help prepare tomorrow's leaders today.
The report also contains a historical retrospective of AHF's past 25 years of giving. Since its inception in 1984, the foundation's accomplishments have included some of the following ones highlighted in the report:
- More than $25 million awarded to nonprofit organizations nationally
- 115 million individuals served in the U.S. and Puerto Rico
- Approximately 58 percent of grants benefited ethnic minority populations
