"We hosted our second annual Honda Partnership Network event this week, designed to increase business opportunities within our supply chain for minority- and women-owned enterprises.
During this day-long "matchmaking" event, Honda facilitated meetings between 74 of our largest Tier 1 suppliers and 285 women and minority-owned companies that possess the capabilities to help those Tier 1 companies meet their business needs. Honda began this program to help our suppliers achieve our goal to have diversity across our entire supply chain.
This event is another example of Honda's ongoing commitment to increase diversity throughout our business operations – including our supply chain. Activities like this have helped Honda reach a significant milestone, spending more than $3 billion with diverse suppliers annually. In total, Honda's supply chain has grown to include more than 2,000 diverse companies in part due to the efforts of the Tier 1 suppliers.
Our continuous pursuit of diversity and inclusion enables our business to serve the community better. We believe in the power of diversity and inclusion to bring together different ideas and perspectives that makes Honda stronger while creating innovation that benefits our customers and society."
